Shooting begins on army drama
The people behind the upcoming TV series, "Confidential: 1950" say the series is set to roll. Seven major cast members of the series turned up at a news conference, at Beijing's Great Hall of the People on Tuesday.

The story is set during the early years of the People's Republic of China, back in the 1950s. It tells the story of seven special agents assigned to protect a confidential document. The plot, which spans less than a fortnight, is packed with intense action. Lu Chao is the main character. The role is played by Wang Xinjun, who earned his stripes playing soldiers on the small screen. Nonetheless, the role proves a challenge for the veteran actor, as he contemplates how to portray a soldier tormented by inner conflict.

Wang xinjun, actor, said, "The mission is to disclose our plans to our enemies and still safeguard the confidential document. With our skills and mental acuity, we are sure to get the job done. But the difficult part is to engage the enemy in the scheme. And because the enemy knows what we are doing, we have to work doubly hard to avoid being caught."
The production starts shooting,Thursday, in the city of Wuzhou. It is scheduled for broadcast, around the National Day holiday in early October.
