“世行简介”------Briefing on The World Bank

Until now, many developing countries and undeveloped countries, remains their special thanks to a bank for her urgent loans and high efficient job, which helping them out of the poverty famine and becoming to wealth. This is The World Bank . Her full name is International bank for reconstruction and development. It is a specialized united nations agency established at The Bretton Woods conference, in 1944. A related institution the international monetary fund(IMF) , was created at the same time. The chief objective of the book is to asset, on the reconstruction and development of territories of members by facilitating the investment of capital for productive purpose.



Frankly saying the bank grants loans only to member nations for the purpose of financing specific projects. The sources of funds of the bank mainly come from subscription to capital shares. The bank’s working funds are derived from sales of its interest—bearing bonds and from profit on its own operations. It has earned profits every year since 1947.



As same as many international financial agencies, The World Bank has her own affiliates. The former is The international finance corps (IFC) established in 1956 .The latter is international Development Association ( I DA) established in 1960.

If one country want to get loans from The world bank .The express way that membership in the international monetary funds is a prerequisite for membership in the World Bank and its affiliates.
