PEOPLE whose names were included on a list of riot victims given by the Dalai clique are still alive, an investigation by Lhasa police has found on Monday. On March 25, the Dalai clique released the "names and details of 40 identified people" alleged to have died in the recent riots. However, the police found five of the people are still alive or never existed. The other 35 were impossible to locate as not enough details are offered on them.

RESEARCHERS at Britain's Newcastle University said last week they had created human-animal hybrid embryos, which stayed alive for three days under laboratory conditions. The landmark announcement stirred up debate on the moral issues surrounding such research. British laws allow this kind of research for medical purposes, but the hybrid embryos have to be destroyed after 14 days.
禽流感疫苗 vaccines for humans against bird flu
A HOMEGROWN vaccine for humans against bird flu, or the H5N1 influenza virus, was approved by the State Food and Drug Administration last week. The approval follows two rounds of clinical tests from 2005 to 2007 involving 500 volunteers. Some 373 people worldwide have been infected with the virus since 2003, of which 236 have died, according to the World Health Organization.
